A full-time working mama in the corporate world with three beautiful and spirited grade school-age humans, I'm a free spirit with drive, determination and an uncanny ability to get myself into ridiculous situations.
Even though I've had a passion for writing and storytelling since I first learned how to hold a pencil, I ironically failed grammar quizzes (and skirt-length checks) my entire freshman year of Catholic high school. As a result, I spent many a lunch hour diagramming sentences with the sweetest nun ever.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, I landed in Northern Indiana to embark on my 10-year career as an award-winning local television news reporter. But when that profession and those hours became too much for my family life, I chose a different career path, which allows me to spend more time with the people I love most.
In my free time, you’ll find me at the gym, trying to get carded when I buy alcohol, writing or power napping. I'm also working to perfect those lawn mower lines in my yard.
Need a straight answer? I've got you. Need to laugh? I've got you again (usually at my own expense). Need me to take it down a notch? Good luck with that.
